Ford's Farm is set in the heart of the village of Ewelme, famous for its c15th church, school and almshouses - a visit that should not be missed if you have time to relax and walk around this bit of true old England.
Ford's Farm. The farmhouse, which is set in the grounds of an attractive garden, the front of which looks on to the Tudor brick building of the old school and with a lawned courtyard at the back, offers peace and quiet together with a warm welcome from the host, Marlene Edwards, whose family has been farming in the village for over a century. There are two twin-bedded rooms and one double room, which are all spacious and well furnished. The dining area is welcoming with its inglenook fireplace and pine table where guests are served with a full English breakfast.
Ewelme is very convenient for those wishing to go sightseeing in the Cotswolds, Stratford, Oxford, Windsor or London. Heathrow is also easily reached from here and there is a train service from Didcot (Paddington is just 35 minutes away), Oxford and Reading which links up to most parts of the country.
Ford's Farm at Ewelme is less than 5 miles from Huntercombe and easily accessible.
The River Thames is also a favourite for the tourist -there is the Henley Regatta which is world reknown for its event in early July, and there are plenty of walks along the Thames footpath for those energetic people wishing to go on foot.
After a days sightseeing, or returning to Ford's Farm after a hard day at the office, a walk to the village pub is always good value - good food is served at a reasonable price and there is always a warm welcome by the landlord.
